Did You Vote?

Well? Did you? Are you going to?

If not, what the hell is wrong with you!? You know, I don't really care who you vote for, so long as you vote. (But you get mad bonus points for filling in the oval next to Sen. Barack Obama. Mad points as in, crazy mad points. Ya heard.)

If you don't vote, you can't bitch. And isn't that why we all live here in the United States? So we can bitch and moan and kvetch about every little thing, and file crazy lawsuits, and sit on our lard asses and eat Big Macs?

Come on now. People died so you could do all of those things, and if you don't vote, it means they died for no reason.

Plus also, if you don't vote, you are going to have to come up with a really good excuse. Because no one is going to buy "Oh, I forgot" or "Oh, it wasn't important anyway." Not this time, buster. You better be illegal or dead or incarcerated if you aren't going to vote.

Women especially - we fought so hard for the right to vote. It's ridiculous not too exercise it.

see, this is the problem i have with the whole "get out there and vote" idea.
say you're a liberal... and you live in a liberal state... you vote liberal of course, but your vote is just one of many many many votes... so yours doesn't matter that much if it isn't there...

now say you're the same liberal living in a conservative state... you are part of the minority... you will go out and vote liberal and your vote will get mashed into the ground by the footsteps of all the conservatives on their way out of the polls... a squashed vote doesn't really mean much either...

so, either way, my single vote wasn't gonna make ANY difference... i didn't vote, and i'm proud of that
