Lamb-ibal Hecter.

So, Frankenfawn - I mean Wudawf - didn't turn out so hot. I know what went wrong, so this time I tried to fix it.

I used felted wool this time. I bought a big ugly gray wool skirt at Sally Ann's for 49 cents, at the Salvation Army Super Saturday 49 Cent Sale, and washed it in hot water and dried it on high heat. It shrank like the dickens of course, but when you wash wool like that, it gets all soft and cuddly and nice.

Like any woven fabric, it had a tendency to fray. Not nearly as bad as the corduroy I used for Frankenfawn, but bad enough, so I used a zig-zag stitch all around the pieces, just inside the trace line, in the seam allowance. That would kind of stop the fray before it happened.

Here is what it looked like at this point:

Don't the pieces look cute? I was feeling all optimistic at this point. No way I could screw this one up. I mean, look at it!
So, I stitched him using a tight straight stitch, and everything was really good till I got to the head part. That gusset is a total frickin' pain in the ass. It just doesn't line up correctly, and as I'm looking at it, I think it's actually an issue with the pattern, not me. The pattern is hand drawn, and it's fantastic, but I think probably someone should have used a compass or something when they drew the gusset, so that the curve would match the curve of the lambs head. Or something. I don't know.
So I finished him up, and here he is. Hannible Lecter - erm, Lamb-ibal Hecter.

I know he would look better with more stuffing, and I plan on ebroidering a nose on him, or something. He needs eyes, too, but I don't know what kind. I have some dark blue embroidery floss, I thought maybe stitch little crescents so he looks like he's sleeping?I don't know.
The only problem is, I don't know how to embroider. I will have to wiki it.

Lambibal Hecter and Frankenfawn. Blood brothers.

I think they're damn cut! And mad props for trying the felting cause I've been wanting to do what you did, buy a cheap wool thang, wash it, etc.

I vote for giant button eyes. They would have to be huge not to present a choking hazard.. but this is good because then it would really add to the character of Lambibal. Giant staring eyes.
